Autistica
Case for support
Autistica approached us to create a case for support brochure that would persuade high value prospects to come on board and encourage existing supporters to deepen their engagement.
What we did
Concepts, copywriting, design, print and production
The client had already developed an early draft, but it was very much content in search of a concept. So, we approached our long-term writing partner, Lisa Pember, and together teased out a compelling narrative, built around the charity’s Goals for 2030. Our driving thought was to talk about these goals in the context of the type of world they will create for Autistic people – and to show these outcomes as ‘snapshots from the future’.
A forward-thinking approach
To dramatise this idea, we created individual ‘snapshots’ for each goal, and nested these within a smart A5 folder, with a contextualising intro and a supporting leaflet fleshing out the detail of the goals and the ask. We chose real-world images paired with confident forward-looking headlines to convey the positive outcomes Autistica is working towards. And used a graphic device reminiscent of a photo corner to see through the snapshot analogy.
The overall effect was a compelling view of the more positive world that donors could play a very real part in creating – at once inspiring and achievable. The client was delighted with the result and so were the Trustees:
‘I just want to say that the board went absolutely wild when we handed out the major donor brochure today. “Best thing we’ve ever produced” said one particularly hard to impress Trustee.’
